Gabriel Cruz grew up in Morgon Hill near San Francisco. He grew up heavily influenced by his grandmother and started working in restaurants in 14.
Gabe’s culinary education also came from the Napa Valley Cooking School, St. Helena California.
There is a heavy Mexican American Influence in Gabe’s life. He has two sisters and a brother. Gabe is the youngest. Grandma always had a pot of beans, and floured tortillas She would cook for his uncle and dad who worked at Ford and they always have fresh burritos.
Las Palmas in Morgon Hills was the first restaurant he worked in.
Gabe’s Hispanic cuisine tends towards Mexican Cajun spicy bold rich flavors, basically things spicy and bold.
Gabe moved to Sandpoint Idaho in 2001 and quickly established himself as one premier chefs in the area. Gabe helped open Beyond Hope resort in Hope Idaho. He is also co-owner of Cafe Trinity and Chimney Rock Grill and is currently working on opening a a restaurant. He is also working on Mobile Truck Catering.
